Figaro Coffee Company

Its been a while since my last post and i'm still a little bit rusty with this blogging thing but here it goes.
I was tagged along by a very good friend of mine, to a food tasting event at Figaro Coffee (Shangrila Plaza).  There we're treated to try on their new products  before they are officially launch.

So for starter, we tried the Basil Penne Insalata (P150) a delicious healthy meal made of sun dried tomatoes, black olives, feta cheese, square ham & basil pesto penne.

Next is the Tilapia en Papillote (P239) a meal made of tilapia fillet with lemon, capers & herbs with pasta on the side.

For their merienda treat, Pancit Luglug (P155) a classic filipino merienda dish.

A meal wouldn't be complete without a dessert, so we are also served with their new cake creations namely the Tablea Blackout Cake (P115) and the Blue Velvet Cake (P110).

And of course what is a coffee shop without coffee? Hence the new must try Kape Indochine, barako coffee traditionally brewed in vietnamese style with condensed milk (available hot or cold).

Just when i thought that its over. We are given a chance to taste the 4 flavors; Four Seasons, Lychee Cucumber, Banana Choconut & Mango Caramel, of their summer fusion smoothies (P125) and the delicious Oreo Cheesecake Cookie (P59).

It has been a delightful experience yet again to be part of a food tasting event.  Thanks to the officers and R&D personnel of Figaro Coffee, especially to Chef Gary Gutierrez.

Torch

Here's another fabulous find in Connecticut, Greenhills... Torch. Recently we got a voucher from Deal Grocer, a treat for 4 person, so we invited a couple of friends with us to join in. Upon arriving in the area we were quite impressed with the simplicity yet elegant ambiance of the place. Cozy and good for business meetings in the afternoon, at night it is good place to hang around with friends to chillout.

As for starters we had the Pumpkin Soup, then the Philly Cheese Steak Pizza and Blackened Chicken Alfredo. After the main course we ordered for some desserts, The Frozen Bravo de Mercedes and Hush Puppies Sundae with Caramel. We really liked everything we had but the Frozen Bravo really was a standout.

Flaming Wings

This recently opened resto in White Plains is definitely not new in the resto scene. They already have several branches across the metro. This was my first time time to try out this place, as i was brought here by a good friend of mine. The place is good for barkada hangouts on weekends. The menu offers a variety of stuff but their specialty is Buffalo Wings. The food is great and there's a lot of appetizers and desserts to choose from. What makes Flaming Wings a better place to dine in with family and hang out with Barkadas? Foods are affordable specially for those who's on the budget ^_^

Cafe Público

One of the latest addition to the growing number of gastronomic feast in Greenhills comes Cafe Público. It primarily offers good tasting Gelatos which come in a variety of flavors. They also offer pastas, sandwiches and pastries. The ambiance is good for get togethers, the walls and decors are very filipiniana, reminiscent of the spanish era. When here in Greenhills this is one of the places that's worth dropping on by.

BBQ Chicken

While looking for a place to eat on a saturday evening, which is usually packed with people, we came across this new restaurant in Burgos Circle - BBQ Chicken ^_^

The menu here consists of set meals, noodles and specialty foods good for pairing with beer or cocktails. Based on the menu, i guessed the owner might be korean. Most of its dishes have a korean flair to it. I ordered the Tomato Chicken Pasta, which didn't fail to impress. The same goes with my friend's order, Smoked Chicken Set meal.

The place is good for a casual barkada get together. And for the techie who is always on the go - free wi-fi.

Tea Tap Cafe

With the recent onslaught of Milk Tea houses on the metro came another one here located along P. Guevarra St., San Juan. Created by the same owner of Kozui Cafe, it recently open its doors to the public which made a steady flow of loyal customers. Today, I had the chance to visit this place and try the food, desserts and of course the Milk Tea ^_^

The place itself is quite relaxing, good for family and barkada get togethers.  It is also perfect for students and professionals who are doing their research, they got free wi-fi access.

The Milk Tea that i drank, Hokkaido Milk Tea, is by far one of the best that i have had.  I chose to have its sweetness level by 75% and added pearl sago to it, yum yum. Aside from the one that i ordered there is a lot more variety to choose from, like the Okinawa Milk Tea, Wintermelon Milk Tea and etc etc.  Now, if you feel like eating, there is pasta or rice toppings to choose from.  The food here is served fast and it's delicious, i tried the Pasta Carbonara which left me wanting more.  They also served Korean Chicken wings in Spicy and Soy Garlic flavor.  And of course, for those who love the taste of basil, the Cheesy Basil Pork Dumplings.  After eating your Lunch, Dinner or Merienda you can opt to have Yoghurt as dessert from Simply Life Yoghurt, from the same makers of Kozui and Tea Tap  ^_^

Overall, Tea Tap Cafe is one of the new up and rising Milk Tea place.  Thanks to its good ambiance, great food and Milk Tea.
